Roger Vs. The Man
...come take my hand and we will slip away with coins for eyes the boatman we will pay dont try and fight it I am on your side youre worth much more to me dead than alive:
so come and join us we will lie down, together...
This group exists in a world where the sounds of Mongolian throat singers, Japanese taiko drums and psychedelic guitars are married in a multi-punched power- house where the music is the gun and the lyrics are the ammo.
Roger Vs. The Man is known for intricate and powerful synthesis of rock, jazz, classical and singer-songwriter elements, representing the wide range of musical backgrounds of its members. The group is unique in its collaboration with a diverse range of artists stretching from legends of the jazz scene, to Indonesian percussionists and rappers. RVTM have performed throughout Sydney in venues such as The Basement and Notes having excited audiences with their high-energy performances. The band is currently finalising their debut album which features arrangements for an ensemble of mini-orchestral proportions.
Five Coffees are a 7 piece funk/hip hop band with live horns, mc, rhythm section and female feature singer. They lit the indie music scene on fire with their debut EP Flatline (2011), produced by Steeve Body (De La Soul) and mastered by Ben Feggans (Empire of the Sun), gaining national and overseas airplay. They have been most recently international feature artist of New York hip hop station One Love. Funk legend Don Blackman (Earth Wind and Fire, Parliament) said "these guys are funky." Powerful dance grooves, hip hop vocals, Five Coffees will have you dancing the night away.
